Last weekend we went to the Boone Hall Plantation for a local event, The Taste of Charleston. Local restaurants come and set up booths and sell small portion tastes of what they sell in their restaurants.
The entrance to the plantation is very spectacular with the huge live oaks forming a wide (about 100) feet arbor over the road
These are the slave cabins from the old plantation
Inside one. Pretty plain.
Quite a crowd
Roger and Margaret. Margaret is a VIF teacher like Marjorie and was the first one to meet her when she got here and helped get Marjorie set up before I arrived. Roger is a fellow J2 (person with a visa accompanying a VIF teacher)
There's a waiter contest. You know, waiters running an obstacle course with drinks etc.
Crowd control. I bet! More like self control! Here are a couple of the dishes. We didn't eat either we just bought them and then threw them away. So we could get the pictures, you know.
