Florida Panhandle Bike Trip

Spring break in South Carolina is from April 3rd to April 12th so we took off for sunny Florida.  Our plan was to see the Florida panhandle.  We drove to Tallahassee and parked our car there.

Here we are ready to go

Oh!  Just a minute lets get a picture of these lovely azaleas, says Auntie Marjorie.

We're going to take the old St. Marks to Tallahassee rail line about 16 miles to St. Marks on the Gulf of Mexico, but our map of Tallahassee was not as current as it could be so it took us a while to find our way out of Tallahassee and to the trail head.  Quick take the picture Auntie Marjorie, I can't hold my gut in much longer.

We arrive on the gulf coast at the little fishing town of St. Marks.  There is not much here except the Sweet Magnolia B&B where we're going to stay and a couple of restaurants.

We're here on Saturday morning and all seems peaceful, but apparently the night before there was a huge brawl here.  37 people arrested.  Yee...ha!  The fish is grouper which is absolutely fantastic.

Notice the oyster shell midden
